Feke is a district 122 km northeast of Adana, in the mountainous part of the Taurus range. Settlement here goes back to the Hittite, Persian and Roman periods; Feke Castle, built in the 12th century and one of the well-preserved castles of the region, stands on a hill northeast of the town centre.
