Anavarza (Anazarbus), near Dilekkaya village in Kozan, was a Cilician city that remained important through the Roman and Byzantine periods. Its landmark is the only triple-arched triumphal arch in Cilicia; aqueducts, a theatre, baths and rock-cut tombs are spread across a wide site. A medieval castle sits on the sheer cliffs rising behind the city. Anavarza is on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List.
