Sarıçam, formed in 2008 from the northeastern part of Yüreğir, is one of Adana's central metropolitan districts. It takes its name from the yellow pine forests to its north; İncirlik Air Base, Çukurova University and the Sabancı Organized Industrial Zone all lie within the district.
