A city-centre archaeology museum displaying finds from the Commagene period.

The Adıyaman Museum has occupied a single-storey building in the city centre since 1982, with three collections of archaeological finds, ethnographic objects and coins. It displays many works of the Kingdom of Commagene (163 BCE-72 CE); one of the most important pieces is the head of King Antiochus I, found in the Samsat excavation. The museum also holds a cult statue dated to about 7500-7000 BCE from the Kilisik hamlet of Kahta, notable for its resemblance to the Göbeklitepe figures.
