Kocatepe Mosque combines the aesthetics of 16th-century Ottoman mosques with 20th-century construction methods; its four minarets recall the Selimiye Mosque and its central dome with half-domes recalls the Sultan Ahmed Mosque. Its main dome is 48.5 metres high and 25.5 metres in diameter. The complex also includes a car park, a conference hall and shopping units.
