Opened in 2015, the Batman Museum (Mehmet Cabir Alper Archaeology and Ethnography Museum) preserves finds from rescue excavations carried out in areas flooded by the Ilısu Dam. Across three exhibition halls it displays around 500 objects, including gaming pieces from Başur Höyük, a standing stone from Gusir Höyük and a figure of the god Bes from Hasankeyf.
