Büyükorhan, in the southwest of Bursa province at the foot of Uludağ, was known as Atranos in the Byzantine period and was conquered by Orhan Gazi in 1321, giving the district its name; Görecik Plateau and the Düğüncüler hot springs are its natural sites.
