Bozkurt is a district on the Hambat plain, 52 km from central Denizli. The area around Karagöl (Black Lake) and trout farming are among its natural features. Most of the district centre's population descends from Bulgarian migrants who arrived after the 1877-78 Ottoman-Russian War and again in the 1950s.
