Enez

Enez, where the Meriç River flows into the Aegean, is a coastal district built over the ancient city of Ainos. Enez Castle, on a hill overlooking the Gulf of Saros, contains the remains of a Byzantine-era Hagia Sophia church; the birdwatching areas of Lake Gala also lie within the district.
