Refahiye is a district at Erzincan's north-western tip, where the borders of the Eastern Anatolia, Black Sea and Central Anatolia regions meet. Formerly called Gercanis, the district took its present name in 1884. The Köroğlu Cave at Altköy and the pine-forested Dumanlı plateau are among its places to see.
