Üzümlü, formerly known as Cimin, is a district east of Erzincan's centre; it gained township status in 1930 and district status in 1987. Altıntepe Castle in the district is a Urartian fortress dated to 850-600 BC, under excavation since 2003. The district is known for the Cimin grape, the world's first and only patented grape variety.
