The cave church on the slopes of Mount Stauris is regarded as one of the earliest places of Christian worship, where the apostle Peter is believed to have preached. A stone facade was later added in front of the rock-cut space. Visiting conditions may have changed since the 2023 earthquakes; check before you go.
