A former church at the centre of the Chora Monastery, famous for its Byzantine mosaics and frescoes.

Just inside the Theodosian land walls, this church, whose name "khora" means "outside the city", was the central building of the Chora Monastery in the Byzantine period. It was converted into a mosque in 1511 by Grand Vizier Hadım Ali Pasha, became a museum in 1945, and was turned back into a mosque in 2020. A significant part of its Byzantine-era mosaics and frescoes can still be seen inside.
