More than 400 registered buildings stand in the historic centre of Talas, most of them 19th-century houses that can be dated by inscriptions above their doors. Built in a mix of Renaissance, classical and Baroque-influenced styles, some of the stone houses have been restored and are now used as boutique hotels and museums.
