Selendi is Manisa's least populated district, with a settlement history of around 7,500 years. The 18-hectare Ters Tepe mound, the largest archaeological site within Manisa's borders, was declared a first-degree protected site in 2014; alongside tobacco farming and livestock, tarhana and keşkek are among its local dishes.
