Stratonikeia, in the Eskihisar neighbourhood of Yatağan, has layers of settlement stretching from the Hittite period to today. Excavations have uncovered two defensive walls, a gymnasium, a theatre, two Roman baths, temples, two agoras and churches. A sacred road starting at the city's gate leads to the sanctuary of Lagina, dedicated to Hecate.
