Mesudiye, on Ordu's border with Sivas, is the province's largest district by area. Its settlement history goes back to the Hittite period; it was called Milas, then Hamidiye, and Mesudiye after 1910, joining Ordu province in 1933. The Melet river runs through it, and Keyfalan and Topçam plateaus are its highlights.
