According to tradition, Balıklıgöl (Halil-ür Rahman Pool) is where the fire into which Abraham was thrown turned into water and the logs into fish. The fish in the pool are held sacred and are not caught. The Rızvaniye and Halil-ür Rahman mosques around it, the Cave of Abraham's Birth and Urfa Castle are visited together.
