A merchant's villa built in the 1910s, later given to Atatürk by the people of Trabzon.

The villa was built as a summer residence by Konstantin Kabayanidis, a merchant of Greek origin, with construction starting in 1890 and finishing in 1912. Atatürk toured and admired the villa during his first visit to Trabzon on 15 September 1924, and it was given to him as a gift by the people of Trabzon in 1931. Purchased by the municipality after Atatürk's death in 1942, the building opened as a museum in 1943.
