Ekinözü is a small, sparsely populated district in the northeast of Kahramanmaraş province, at 1,281 m elevation. It suffered severe damage in the magnitude-7.7 earthquake of 6 February 2023, whose epicentre was near the district, and some buildings are still being repaired or rebuilt.
