Doğanyurt is a district of Kastamonu on the Black Sea coast, on mountainous, hilly terrain between Cide and İnebolu. Hazelnut, walnut and chestnut growing, beekeeping and coastal fishing are the district's main livelihoods; it became a district in 1990.
