Çay is an Afyonkarahisar district at the meeting point of the Aegean, Mediterranean and Central Anatolian regions. The Stone Madrasa, Stone Han and Stone Mosque, all dating from 1278, are historic buildings still in use; nearby Ipsos was the site of the famous Battle of Ipsus in 301 BCE.
